Hello and welcome back to Nati Creates! I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I’ve got some exciting news to share! I wanted to write a catch up post on what I’ve been up to, as well as one where that I can fill you in on the changes I have planned for my content, so here is one combining both!
I created my blog at the start of 2018. Since then I’ve written/posted at least three blog posts per week – sometimes one per day – and Nati Creates has grown more than I could have imagined. It’s given me opportunities that I’m endlessly grateful for in its mere ten months, so as you can imagine I’m excited to see what the future of this little space on the internet has in store.
Theatre, writing, photography, fashion, music, dance, design, makeup; I’ve always had a deep connection with every element of the arts, and the fact that I have my own space to experiment and explore different mediums of creativity is one of the many reasons I love blogging.
My taste and style is constantly changing – albeit gradually – and I’ve found that my blog content is somewhat lagging behind what inspires me right now.
In addition to this, I’m currently in my final year of university, I’m working a part-time job 20+ hours per week, and I’m posting on my blog every two or three days. Combined with how much I enjoy connecting with you guys on Instagram and Twitter, I don’t have the kind of time day-to-day that I had over the summer to create such in-depth content with each post.
So I’m going to do something about that.
You’re going to notice a change in layout across the blog itself and in photography style, as well as a bit of a change up in content presentation. I don’t want the pressure of creating an analytic, in-depth, I’m-pouring-my-soul-and-intellect-into-this post to become a hindrance creatively, which is something I’ve noticed happening recently. As an avid reader and equally visually-influenced person, I’ve found myself wanting to include both at the highest standards I can in each post, which is exhausting and off-putting as a creator.
I know this kind of pressure is coming from no one but myself, but I thought I’d fill you in to keep you in the loop as to what’s going to be new on here and why!
In the mean time, for a start, I’ve added a ‘Shop’ page so that you can check out what I’m loving right now and click through to check out each product – I find this feature really helpful when I’m reading other blogs, and I hope you find it useful too (or simply enjoy the peruse).
To sum it up, Nati Creates is going to be a space for me to experiment creatively as I explore topics I care a lot about. There’s going to be a lot more style-focused content (interiors and fashion-wise) and I’m also going to focus a lot more on sustainability, which I’ve discussed in previous posts about interior styling and fast fashion.
I’m really looking forward to starting this little rework and I hope you stick around along the way! I’d love to know your thoughts, ideas and feedback too – feel free to comment and let me know what you like about Nati Creates and what you’d like to see on here in the future, too!
